EARNING NEOPOINTS

Neopoints are the global currency of Neopia. You use them to buy items and other goods in Neopia Central. However, most people have trouble figuring out ways to earn a lot of Neopoints. Many of the good items in Neopia are outrageously inflated in price, which makes the game a lot more frustrating for casual players. But for us hard-core Neopets fans, there's no greater feeling than finally purchasing that ultra-rare Battledome weapon you've always wanted.

I must warn you, however. Unlike other games, there are no "cheat codes" or ways to instantly earn millions of Neopoints. If you want to become rich, you'll have to earn it fair and square.

ONCE-A-DAY FREE ITEM LOCATIONS

There are quite a few areas in Neopia that will give you cheap items or a handful of Neopoints for free. You can visit these places once per day, and although their prizes may seem worthless, the savings will add up over time.

The National Neopian Bank - If you haven't created a bank account at the Neopian Bank, you should do it immediately. The bank is a place where you can deposit your Neopoints and keep them safe from thieves (namely, the Tax Beast). In addition, you can collect a small amount of Neopoints every day from the bank. This is called "interest", for those who don't know.

Coltzan's Shrine - This, supposedly, is a shrine dedicated to one of Sakhmet City's former rulers, King Coltzan III. When you step up to the shrine, the spirit of Coltzan may give you Neopoints, a free item, or raise your active Neopet's stats. Or he may do nothing. Usually, you'll get better prizes if your active pet is below Level 10.

Fruit Machine - Playing the Fruit Machine is absolutely free, so you should probably go here every day. Most of the time, you'll win nothing, but sometimes you may earn Lost Desert food, Neopoints, or on very, very rare occasions, a Paint Brush that you can use to change your pet's colour (or sell it for a nice wad of NP).

The Tombola - There is a man on Mystery Island who runs a Tombola booth. Basically, he'll pull a ticket out of a box, and if it's a winning number, he'll give you some free stuff. He may give you food, codestones (used at the Training School to raise your pet's stats), or bottled faeries (used to give your pet new abilities). Sometimes, he'll feel so generous as to give you Neopoints or a "booby prize" even though you didn't win.

The Underwater Fishing Cave - Deep underwater, there is a cave where you and your pet can go fishing. Depending on your pet's fishing skill, you can pull junk items out of the water, or delicious varieties of fish. You can catch something about once per day, and your pet's fishing skill will increase as you fish more often.

Giant Omelette - Believe it or not, there is a giant egg roasting on the surface of a canyon in Tyrannia. Long story short, you can snatch a free omelette from this place every day. The omelette actually counts as three meals, making it an effective way to feed your hungry pets.

Healing Springs - There is a Water Faerie in Faerieland who will heal your pets for free. Sometimes she'll only heal a small amount of HP, sometimes she'll completely restore your pet's HP and cure any diseases they might have, and sometimes she'll give you a healing potion.

Test Your Strength - It costs 100 Neopoints to play this game. But occasionaly, you may win something worthwhile from the machine. Don't count on winning the insanely high jackpot, though; only a select few have scored that high (keep in mind that over 30 million people play Neopets).

Wheel of Excitement - It costs 150 Neopoints to play this game. Most of the time, you'll win Neopoints from the wheel, but there's also a chance of winning items, or being attacked by the Pant Devil or Lava Ghoul.

Wheel of Mediocrity - It costs 50 Neopoints to play this game. The prizes aren't really that good, but who knows? You might get lucky.

Wheel of Monotony - It costs 100 Neopoints to play this game. This wheel takes (literally) hours to stop spinning. But there is a higher chance that you might win something useful.

Wheel of Knowledge - This is the most expensive wheel, costing 500 NP per spin. But, this is more likely to give out better prizes, or even "cheat codes" for some of the flash games.

There are more "daily visits" out there, such as as offers from Neopets sponsors, so be sure to look around.

OFFICIAL CONTESTS

The Neopets Team runs a variety of contests on the site, which reward players with Neopoints and a shiny trophy that appears on their lookup. If you're a creative type of person, it wouldn't hurt to try one of these contests.

As you can see, the Neopets Team hosts a lot of different competitions. If you're not good at one contest, keep trying them out, one at a time, until you find your sweet spot. Winning a contest not only earns you a trophy, but it also makes you more popular, and you may even recieve some fanmail in your neomail inbox.

RESTOCKING

Perhaps the fastest way to earn tons of Neopoints would be through the art of Restocking. In restocking, players visit Neopets shops and keep refreshing until a super-rare item appears, at which point they will try to buy it as fast as possible. These rare items sometimes sell for a lot more NP than you spent to buy them.

Rather than go through a detailed explanation of how to restock, and where, I would suggest looking in the Helpful Links section below.

HELPFUL LINKS

Below are links to some awesome petpages to help you earn a steady flow of Neopoints. They are not necessarily created by guild members, but they are very helpful, so please look at some of them if you are interested.
